Age of Empires II: The Conquerors Expansion 

 

 

 

In 1999, Age of Conquerors or AoC is the first expansion pack of Real Time Strategy game. AoC is the game of Age of Empires II - The Age of Kings. Age of Conquerors is the fourth release of Age of Empires series by Ensemble Studios - Microsoft Game Studios. AoC contains Five Civilizations named Mayans, Aztecs, Koreans, Spanish and Huns. AoC released with Four Campaigns with eleven new units and twenty six new technologies. New Maps, New Gameplay Modes tweaks were offered to play game.
 

 

Most interestingly a new technology called Micromanagement was made easier.  Artificial Intelligence of Villagers and Siege Weapons and their performance were improved. Age of Conquerors (AoC) with this Artificial Intelligence automatically gather the resources as soon as they build resource gathering sites. Also the construction like Wall Building were improved as the two or more villagers evenly spread to build walls when assigned. Farmers were not sit idle when their farm dried and they move the nearest idle farm to start cultivating in the adjacent idle farms. Siege Weapons like Mangonels and onagers were not automatically fire themselves when their attack is likely to harm their own or friendly units.  Farms are automatically filled with woods several times which would help the dried farms automatically reloaded and replanted.  It also provides efficient way to communicate with Allied Players.

Age of Conquerors Expansion has eleven added and unique units. Those are :

◾Eagle Warrior and Elite Eagle Warrior - They are the Fast Moving Infantry
◾Halberdier - upgrade to Pikeman
◾Jaguar Warrior and Elite Jaguar Warrior - Aztec's Anti-Infantry. 
◾Plumed Archer and Elite Plumed Archer - Mayan's Tough Foot Archers.
◾War Wagon and Elite War Wagon - Korean's Heavily Armored Cavalry with Siege Engine.
◾Conquistador and Elite Conquistador - Spanish's Gun Power Mounted Units.
◾Hussar - Upgrade to Light Cavalry.
◾Tarkan and Elite Tarkan - Huns Anti-Building Cavalry.
◾Petards - Suicide Bombers.
◾Turtle and Elite Turtle Ship - Koreans Short Ranged Heavily Armored Ships with Cannon.
◾Missionary - Spanish Swiftly Created Monks.
